The Citywide PAL / PPR (Police Athletic League & Philly Parks and Recreation) talent show is for young performing artists from 9 to 18 years of age. Only single performers are permitted; no duets, trios or groups. The awards include full scholarships to the Young Performer Theatre camp which occurs from July 2nd through August 10th at the University of Pennsylvnia's Annenberg Center and Venice Island Performing Arts Recreation Center.
Audition pre-registration is available by completing and submitting the audition form below. Note: parent/guardian must accompany the performer at the audition and complete a written appication. Any candidate chosen for semi-final and finals must submit a birth certificate. All successfully completed auditions will serve as an approval audition for YPTC (Young Performers Theatre Camp.)
Parents/guardians can also register their performer on-site at each audition location by completing a registration form. Only one audition permitted for each candidate. Age groups of the performers are from 9 to 12, 13-14, and 15 to 18 years old as of July 2, 2018. The categories will be either Dance or Other (which can encompass any talent exhibition except dance). In the case of a singer/dancer, judges will consider that actor/actress simetaneously in both categories.
Any performing arts talent will be considered (juggling, acrobatic, ventriloquism, magic, etc.)

Thursday, March 1st: Cozen PAL, 732 N. 17th Street; 19130. (center city); 5 - 8pm
Friday, March 2nd: Finley Recreation Center, 7701 Mansfield Ave., 19150. (Northwest); 5 - 8pm
Monday, March 5th: Northeast Older Adult Center, 8101 Bustleton Avenue, 19152. (Northeast). 5 - 8pm
Tuesday, March 6th: Grays Ferry PAL, 3225 Reed Street, 19146. (South Philly); 5 - 8 pm
Wednesday, March 7th: Harrowgate PAL, 851 E Tioga Street; 19134. (Lower Northeast). 5 - 8pm
Thursday, March 8th: Wynnfield PAL, 2251 N. 54th Street, 19131 (West Philly; entrance on Wynnfield Ave); 5 - 8pm
Please complete the registration form below, provide an approximate time request between 5:15 and 7:15pm and we will do our best to accomodate you at that approximate time. Every email submission will be reviewed and responded to by email.
You will be notified by US mail of the judge's decision on candidates for the competitive portion of our talent contest by Friday, March 16th. Preliminary winners will be invited to compete at one of two city semi-finals at either the NE Older Adult Center or Venice Island PARC. The final is scheduled on March 23, 2018 at Venice Island Performing Arts Center, 7 Lock Street, Philadelphia, PA 19127 at 7pm.
